Many people have experienced in back pain due to their routine behavior. The pain level of individual depends on the strength of their bone and their muscle.

Recently, there are many people are having problems about back pain following with headache. The main cause of back pain comes from working, playing sports, poor sitting habits, and lift a heavy object. For women, the cause of back pain may come from wearing high heels, sleeping on a soft surface, overweight, and back pain during pregnancy. However, general back pain is not severe and can get better by itself in few days. There are many people cannot handle the pain and need to be diagnosed by expert doctors. In order to reduce pain and provide medical treatment appropriately, you need to understand the factors that can cause back pain.

The Causes of Back Pain

  1. Back pain occurs from abnormality of bone structure such as Scoliosis, bones and joints abnormalities leading to unbalance of back bone.
  2. Back pain from accidents such as broken back bone.
  3. Abnormalities of internal organs such as Urethral stone leading to back pain.
  4. Cancer or Tumor at back bone

  7. Osteoporosis is the symptom when your bone is getting thinner and collapse of the back bone leading to chronic back pain.

  10. For back pain treatment, doctors provide medicines to reduce inflammation, physical therapy and recommend patients to have sufficient rests, avoid any activities that can harm back bone. In case the back pain becomes more severe and chronic, doctors may consider to do operation. Before the treatment, the doctors will consider patients' medical history and use X-ray and CT scan or MRI to diagnose diseases effectively.

If you are over 30 years old, experience chronic back pain, shorter, a rounded back, a bent forward look, bow-shoulder, stomach push forward, breath difficulties. These symptoms are the signs of Osteoporosis. Osteoporosis is the disease that bones become much more fragile. In other words, your bones have density loss. Diagnosis needs medical history, checking blood, X-ray computed in order to figure out the diseases correctly such as lack of Vitamin D disease, lack of calcium disease, cancer, and Thyrotoxicosis.

 

Osteoporosis is mostly found in women in menopause and patients receiving long-term steroid and in men with a high functioning alcoholic.The symptoms of Osteoporosis usually follow with broken bones, pain, misshape, and chronic pain. The treatment should diagnose patients with Osteoporosis and broken bone patients separately by using OSTA (Osteoporosis Self Assessment Tool for Asians). The formula is 0.2 x (body weight – ages), which can determine the risk level of Osteoporosis. If the result is less than minus 4 to minus 1, it means patients have moderate risks. If the result is higher than 1 minus, it means patients have low risk of Osteoporosis.

Generally, patients with initial period may not feel the pain even though the bone is getting thinner. However, the pain will be more severe when patients experience broken bones, especially in the broken of backbone.

Prevention of Osteoporosis is the best way to do. Generally, we should have sufficient calcium since childhood. However, it is better if we avoid food that reduces potential of bone such as drinking soda, drinking coffee, and drinking alcohol too much in everyday. More importantly, we should do plenty of exercise, spend time in sunlight in order to strengthen bone health and stay away from chronic disease such as diabetes. Bone is another important part of your body, do not let it collapse and affect your everyday living.
